It's better to use a non-toxic and VOC free vegetable oil like canola, olive, or other vegetable oil. Many lubricants like WD-40 or even motor oil are toxic or contain harmful volatile organic compounds. By using a food grade oil you can eliminate this problem and keep your family safe while getting rid of annoying squeak sounds. Use the oil spray and a paper towel to quickly lubricate door hinges. You can use a readily available, non toxic, inexpensive lubricant that will not poison your lungs or put your family at risk.
