How to install rear wheel spacers, wheel adapters, BMW X5, DIY.

Just a quick video to show you how to install rear wheel spacers. This was installed on a 2009 BMW 4.8I X5 E70. The spacers are D-S-X brand that I purchased from www.EBay.com. Some tools or materials used for installation are listed below.

0:00 Introduction
0:21 Here is a picture of the pre-rear wheel spacer. You can see that the tire and wheel are within the wheel well.
1:11 The D-S-X kit is wheel hub centric on this 25mm spacer.
1:43 Use a breaker bar with a 17mm socket to break all five lug nuts loose.
1:59 Jack up the rear on one side. Only high enough to get the tire off the ground with a jack stand in place.
2:32 I used an impact drill to remove the lug nuts faster than by hand.
3:02 Clean up the face of the rotor where the wheel spacer and rotor will make contact with each other.
3:18 You want the surface to be clean and level. Use a wire brush after scraper if needed.
3:34 The inside edge that is tapered is the side that will make contact with the rotor during installation.
3:50 Check to make sure the spacer will fit over the hub end. Make sure all lug nut holes align and that the spacer will lie flush on the rotor.
4:07 I added an anti-seize compound to the backside of the spacer for ease of removal for a future date if needed.
4:23 Just use a thin coat over the complete surface.
4:53 I used a red thread locker or Loctite on at least six threads on the lug nuts that came in the kit.
5:09 Apply a coat on the threads of all five lug nuts, all the way around the lug nut.
5:25 Make sure the holes are aligned and start your first lug nut. Add each lug nut in a crisscross pattern and snug it down by hand.
5:42 Torque each lug nut in a crisscross pattern. Start at 50 Ft/Lbs. each and then at 101 Ft/Lbs. You will find torque value differences on the internet but I did 101 Ft/Lbs.
6:15 Clean out the threads of the OE lug nuts with a wire brush
6:30 Use a wire brush to clean the backside surface of the wheel
7:01 I used a blue thread locker or Loctite to at least 6 threads of each lug nut.
7:17 I used my impact drill to slowly start each lug nut and snug them down in a crisscross pattern.
7:33 Torque the lug nuts to the proper torque. I used 101 Ft/Lbs. Remove the jack stand and then lower the SAV.
7:50 25mm wheel spacer on the rear. Is it flush or does it stick out a little? You be the judge!
