Description from the creator

I use a cut of corned beef silverside to make South African style Biltong on the cheap! Silverside is already brined and very affordable making it the perfect cut for Biltong.

I use 1Kg of meat, table salt, pepper and coriander (in equal parts) for a total cost of about $13 to make a heap of Biltong. The perfect cheap and tasty snack!

Keep the inside temp of your biltong box between 20 and 30 degrees celcius (68-86F) and make sure you have a fan for airflow. If in a box some people add a 40w incandecent light bulb. Or just hang it in the attic, making sure there is sufficient airflow. If in a box, one computer fan will be enough airflow. If in the attic, you should be able to feel the breeze moving through the roofspace.
