In brief

Save money and reduce waste by refilling aerosol spray cans like WD40 or carb cleaner using two practical methods. ChrisFix demonstrates how to recharge cans that have lost propellant, giving you two options—one using an air compressor and another with a tire stem—to extend their usable life.

Key steps

  1. Check if the can’s valve stem is compatible with refilling methods
  2. Use an air compressor with a spray adapter to inject propellant
  3. Use a tire stem as an alternative method for refilling (as shown by sixtyfiveford)

Questions & answers

What types of aerosol cans can be refilled this way?

Cans with a standard valve stem, such as WD40, carb cleaner, or PB Blaster, as demonstrated by ChrisFix.

Do I need special equipment for this?

Yes, an air compressor with a spray adapter or a tire stem for the alternative method.

Description from the creator

This is how I recharge my aerosol spray cans such as wd40, carb cleaner, pb blaster, etc. A lot of times the air leaks out over time or you use half of the can but the propellant gets used up and you have to throw away the can. I go over two methods to refill the propellant in aerosol cans so you can save money!

Thanks to sixtyfiveford for the idea of using a tire stem as another method as he showed in his video so we have options:
