How to repair Car starter unit: Contactor - Selenoid (DIY)

This slide show you how to:
-remove autocar starter selenoid.
-dis-assembly autocar starter selenoid.
-cleaning contactor points.
-reassembly the selenoid.

There are 3 function of autocar starter unit :
1.delivering high current to starter motor (contactor-selenoid).
2.push the crank engaged gear to start main crank wheel(selenoid).
3.rotate the main crank wheel (starter motor).
Those three function work simultaneously.

This slide show is try to explain how to repair contactor.
Bad contactor makes difficulties to start engine, eventough the battery is good. Wrong diagnosis usually ended to blame the battery.

To test starter motor and selenoid pushing power is easy, but to testing contactor is more difficult. Opening the contactor is a better way to see the problem.
