How to Replace Jet Ski Seat Cover

How to reupholster the seat on a jet ski. I replaced the vinyl seat cover on a couple of SeaDoo projects and a few subscribers have asked me about how to do that. So here's a quick montage that shows the process.

Notice the condition of the foam of both of these seats. This is typical for a jet skit that has been sitting outside near the water for 25 years. Don't panic if you remove the old vinyl and find something like this inside. If the foam has chunks missing, the holes may cause the seating surface to look uneven. I suggest that you either add foam to fill any large holes or try to get your hands on antother seat that's in better condition.

You can pick up marine grade vinyl at most larger fabric stores. The vinyl for this project cost me about $8 USD. I recommend stainless steel staples, especially if you are going to ride in salt water.

You can do this job with either a manual or electric stapler. I happen to have a cheap electric model which you can see in the video. It really comes down to your preference.

Hope this video helps with your project.
