Description from the creator

Change your oil DIY style in any 2009-2014 VW or 2009 (CBEA and CJAA motors) - current Audi V6 TDI (except Audi A3 and 2015+ VW TDI EA288 engines) using the topside oil extraction method. This can be completed in around 20 minutes. In this example, I am using a 2010 VW Jetta TDI, but you can do this on most cars that have an oil filter located on top of the engine and a dipstick tube. I bought the oil filter and 4 liters of spec 507 motor oil from the VW dealer for less than $50. The pump is a MityVac 7201.

You must use VW Spec 507 oil in your TDI engine. This is due to the specific requirements of the DPF exhaust. So far, you can use:
Mobil1 ESP
Castrol LL03

Both of these oils are sold by the liter rather than by the quart. This is also true for the Audi TDI engines.

The oil filter housing requires a 1/2" socket wrench and a 32mm socket. This is compatible with all TDI engines I've worked on, VW and Audi, 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder.

Unfortunately, due to the location of the oil filter on the MK7 Golf TDI, this topside method isn't really ideal, as the car will need to be on a lift to access the oil filter. Bummer!

Unfortunately, this method does not work on the VW EA88 diesel engine because the engine oil filter is underneath the engine.
