How to melt the PVC? A wax candle will be hot enough, don't overdo it. you only need a small bulge.

How heavy do I make my rocket? Heavier than you think. An empty bottle won't fly well, put some weight in the nose cone and experiment!

At what pressure will this explode? Your PVC is rated in the 500+ PSI range. Most plastic bottles start to fail at 150 PSI. you should be safe in the 20-80 PSI range (I used 40 PSI)

How do I attach the fins and nose cone? Tape. Plz don't use hot glue.

Notes:
Make sure your fins are waterproof.
Have a large open space if you are building a high power rocket. They come down with a lot of force. Don't hit anyone or anything with them.

Troubleshooting:
Rocket doesn't fly straight: Use bigger fins or add more weight.
You keep getting wet: Ummm. Yeah.
