AutoCAD Tutorial – How to use LAYISO, LAY ON, LAY OFF Command, Creating Custom Command Aliases Creating Custom Command Aliases
AutoCAD includes numerous ways to choose commands from the UI (user interface). However, you may want to choose commands by typing in keyboard shortcuts. In this tutorial I will show you several ways to add your own custom keyboard shortcuts or aliases.
The keyboard shortcuts are defined in the ACAD.PGP (AutoCAD) file or ACADLT.PGP (AutoCAD LT) file. You can view and edit these files using Notepad or the AI_EDITCUSTFILE command in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
Open any AutoCAD drawing and type AI_EDITCUSTFILE to begin the command, then type acad.pgp and press ENTER to open the file.
Open any AutoCAD drawing and type AI_EDITCUSTFILE to begin the command, then type acad.pgp and press ENTER to open the file.
The format of the shortcut is:

To create the shortcut 1 for layiso enter the following in the file ACAD.PGP or ACADLT.PGP:
