How to Add or Change Your Gmail Account Photo

Watch this video to learn how to add a photo to your Gmail account or change your Gmail photo to something new. We’ll walk you through the process of both adding or changing your Gmail profile picture, and give you some tips to get the best picture possible to use for your account.

To add a profile photo to your Gmail account, go to gmail.com and log in. Click the gear icon, then select Settings. Then, click Select a Picture. Click Choose File. Find the picture you’d like to use, then click Open. Adjust the crop of the photo. When you’re happy with the picture, click Apply Changes.

To change your Gmail profile photo, open your Gmail settings. Then, scroll down and click Change Picture. Next, click Choose File to upload a new photo. Find the photo you’d like to use for your account, then click Open. Crop the picture how you’d like it to look, and click Apply Changes to save it.

Tips to getting the best Gmail photo:
1. Use a plain background when taking your photo. Nobody wants to see your bedroom or anything that could take away from your face.
2. Don’t use images that are too dark, blurry, or include other people. Make sure your photo clearly shows your face.
3. Keep your photo updated. Now that you know how easy it is to do, try to keep your profile current.
