Description from the creator

How to adjust snowmobile idle screw on Mikuni carburetor the right way so your sled idles smooth, starts easier, and stops stalling.

Is your snowmobile idling too high, stalling at stops, or bogging when you hit the throttle? Before you tear the carbs apart, a simple idle screw adjustment on the Mikuni often fixes it. In this step-by-step video I show exactly how to set the idle speed screw and air screws on a Mikuni carburetor so both carbs stay in sync.

You’ll see:
• Where the idle screw sits and how to find the contact point with the piston slide
• The 2-turn baseline method and how to keep both carbs identical
• Proper air-screw seating and the 1-turn-out starting point
• Fine-tuning to the correct idle RPM range (roughly 1600–2000 on most 2-strokes)
• Safety tip: always keep the track off the ground when first starting after an idle change
• Common mistakes that cause high idle, low idle, or rough running

This works on the vast majority of carbureted Polaris, Ski-Doo, Yamaha, and Arctic Cat sleds that use Mikuni carbs. Demonstration is on a 1988 Polaris Indy Trail 488, but the process is the same for most models.

A correctly set idle prevents stalling, improves throttle response, reduces plug fouling, keeps clutch engagement smooth, and helps the engine last longer. Small turn of the screw, big difference on the trail.
