The CPA exam application can be straightforward or exceedingly complicated depending on your background. In this video, we outline the process in 10 steps, starting from the very beginning of picking your state board. If you are an accounting major planning to work in your own state, there it is a no brainer to register in your own state.

However, if it is hard for you to fulfil a specific education requirement because you were educated outside of the US, or that you are a non-accounting major, or graduated without 150 credit hours, then things become more complicated and you may need extra effort in choosing an appropriate state board.
