If you are brand new to spearfishing, do not rush straight into buying the biggest gun you can load. Get comfortable snorkeling first, learn to equalize, dial in your mask/wetsuit/weights, and dive with a buddy. Then start simple with a polespear or shorter speargun before moving into bigger reef, pelagic, wood, or roller setups.
