Most of us use our toothbrush twice daily and put it back in the holder to let it dry without a second thought. Me included. Not really bothering to check what may be building up at the bottom of the holder.

Where ever there is water and not enough air getting to it, this is a place for build up and bacteria to start forming and thrive.

I have found that this pen holder from Ikea doubles up as a nice toothbrush holder. It has lots of holes which allows air to move freely, hence no build up.

Before throwing my old plastic toothbrush holder away. I decided to give it a last ditch clean. The results are brilliant.

Clean it this way once a month to stop any build up for plastic holders.

Keep your tooth brush as far away from the toilet as when it is flushed particles from the toilet get sprayed into the air which could land on your toothbrush. Ever since i heard this I keep mine on my bedroom dressing table.

Thanks for watching, your time is appreciated
