Hooking up the Receiver

Strip the wire:

Use the string so that you do not use wire that was damaged when you scored the wire.

Hooking up the speaker wire

If you did not label the wire when you ran the wire, that is okay. We are going to be using a magical tool that is a must-have. We recommend using a “Tone Generator."

What is a “Tone Generator” and what does it do?

You can pick up a “Tone Generator” from Amazon for about $50.00. amazon.com/dp/B00TLFE1NM?psc=1

A “Tone Generator” sends sound through the wire to your speaker. Once you attach the wire to the “Tone Generator” you will hear a series of sounds from the speaker. Then you can label the speaker.

Use the tone generator to identify the speakers.

Pro Tip – Be consistent when you identify the speakers. Put your labels in the same place on every wire. Cut the wires to the same length for neatness. The speakers are designated as if you are watching TV. The front right speaker is the speaker to the right of the tv and so on. Label the wires with a permanent marker.

Pro tip – How to determine the length of the wire? Give yourself some slack for future changes to equipment.
