How do I connect with kids when babysitting for the first time? When you are a new babysitter it can be hard to figure this out. My biggest babysitting tip for you when connecting with kids is to meet with the family BEFORE you go and babysit for the first time.
This is a great time for you to connect with the kids while mom and dad are still around. There is no fear of their parents leaving. When you do go to the house for the first time and mom and dad have to leave, the kids are familiar with you so they are more comfortable. By gathering information about likes and dis likes you are able to gear your "Go to Bag" with their interests.
