How to count music (for different genres)

Last year I made a counting tutorial (youtube.com/watch?v=fFcml2J5ElE) and in that video I used some Hip Hop and House beats to demonstrate how you should count the beats, bars and phrases. But how do you count when it's a different genre like (for instance) Dancehall or Reggaeton?

The technique is exactly the same! Most of the music we play has the same 4/4 time signature so all you need to do is find the 1 and start counting. Usually this will be where the beat (drums) begins.
