Check out the "Decorate Your Cakes" book series on Amazon to create your own custom cakes! Many titles coming soon.

How to cover a Dummy (polystyrene) Cake with fondant!
What you'll need:
Polystyrene/styrofoam cake
Fondant
Turntable (not required but makes things A LOT easier)
Pizza cutter/sharp knife
Water & brush
Corn starch
Rolling Pin
Needle (for popping air bubbles)
Smoothing tool
Tape measure

Dummy cakes are a great way to add extra tiers and height to a cake in a situation where you don't need heaps of servings.
Don't forget the water as this will adhere the fondant to the dummy cake. If you want to reuse your dummy cake, simply cover it in cling wrap or shortening instead of water, this will enable you to remove the fondant from the polystyrene a lot easier than if you use water alone.

They're also a great medium to practice honing your skills on!
Happy cake decorating.
