This video is to talk a little about how doors are handed and the logic behind how we choose the hand of a door
There are many methods that can be used when determining this
There are four ways a door can swing
There are doors that swing in and doors that swing out
To determine this you would stand on the lock side and either open the door in or out
For only in swinging doors the hinges will either be on the left or the right
If the hinges are on the left then call it a left hand and the right will be called right hand
The other two ways is when a door swings out
When you are standing on the secured side of the out swinging door the hinges will either be on the left or the right
If the hinges are on the left then it is called a left hand reverse and the right will be right hand reverse
The addition of the word reverse means that it is an out swinging door
This is an industry standard method
