Research shows that a well-qualified and well-prepared workforce is key to quality child care, school age care, and afterschool programs, and, ultimately, to improving child and youth outcomes. The Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program has a strong focus on improving child care quality through increased training requirements tied to a progression of professional development.
