Dividing Mixed Numbers
---------------------------------------------------------------------

A mixed number is a whole number combined with a proper fraction ( a fraction where the numerator is less than the denominator.

Solve:

1. Break down the mixed numbers into fractions. Do this by multiplying the denominator by the whole number and then adding the numerator.
2. Repeat for the second mixed number.

How to Divide Mixed Numbers

1. Now, keep the first fraction as is but change the division sign to a multiplication sign and flip the second fraction.
2. Multiply straight across.
3. Convert fraction into a mixed number.
4. Divide numerator by denominator to get the whole number. Then, subtract the number you just got (the whole number) from the numerator to get the numerator for the mixed fraction.
