How to drive a manual car /stick shift. Sometimes it's not necessary to apply the handbrake brake when you've briefly stopped on a slight hill. If you're learning to drive a manual car and scared of rolling back on a slight incline (which could lead to an accident or a failed driving test) then this video will hopefully help you become an expert at hill starts without needing the handbrake or hill start assist. If you prefer using the handbrake when doing hill starts, then you can of course continue doing that and it won't affect your driving test as long as you're safe and demonstrate good control.

We show you how to move your feet quickly to set the gas and find the biting point to avoid rolling back or stalling the car. Clutch control on hills is also covered in the second part of the video.
