One of the most important parts of being productive as an entrepreneur is to get good at managing tasks. Unfortunately, many people get the to do list format wrong and end up creating confusion and disorganization in their life. In this video, I share with you my tips for getting organized and how to do the to do list the right way.

The whole point of a to do list is to keep all of your tasks in one place so that you know exactly what you’re doing at all times. It would make sense that you would have a single list rather than having it spread out on multiple slips of paper. Having the list in fragments makes managing tasks difficult because it becomes a source of wasted time as you try to remember everything that should be on it.

That’s why one crucial part of the to do list format is to keep it all on the same piece of paper that you can bring with you throughout your day. Avoid writing things down on scrap bits of paper that you’re liable to lose.

Secondly, you should be able to add things to your list at a moment’s notice. However, you shouldn’t have to take out your computer each time you make an appointment with someone. For this purpose, I simply pull out my phone and email myself a reminder. Doing so allows you to be quick, yet subtle.

Managing tasks should add to your productivity -- not take away from it. By using a to do list format that truly keeps things organized, you can stay on track and get more done without the extra stress.
