How sleep affects testosterone production:

Testosterone builds while you sleep. The bursting and burning of testosterone are what fuels an erection. Resting testosterone level for a typical male is between 400 - 800

Lack of sleep and testosterone:

If you are only getting 4 hours of sleep your testosterone levels are only going to start out at 250 NG/DL. If you get 8 hours of sleep you will start at 600 NG/DL. It's not about just sleeping longer. It's about the quality of sleep.

Deep sleep and testosterone:

REM is only 25% of your sleep. The slow-wave or deep sleep is when your body heals the most, and what helps with human growth hormone and testosterone.

How many hours of sleep a night do you need?

A good range for the average man would be 7 - 9 hours of sleep. If you go over 9 hours you will start losing testosterone. If you are an athlete or you work out on a daily basis, the more sleep the better so your body can heal.

The benefits of sleep:

The benefits of sleep can't be understated! In addition to increasing your testosterone levels, quality sleep builds muscles and gives you better skin and hair. You have a lower risk of injury and reduce the risk of illness and diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and sexual dysfunction. Plus you just look younger!

How to get deep sleep tips:

Set a sleep schedule and keep it. Keep the room slightly cool. Don't drink alcohol or smoke weed before you sleep. It reduces REM and disturbs your sleep. Do light stretching before sleep and avoid drinking water late to stop waking up for the bathroom. Don't eat a heavy meal right before sleep and eat fats and proteins to maintain blood sugar and avoid waking up. Also, keep the room pitch black or get eye covers or light-blocking curtains. Turn off the TV and electronics an hour or two before sleep and don't sleep next to Wi-Fi. Avoid caffeine for 10 hours before sleep (including soda).
