Description from the creator

What are additive traits?
Additive genes affect the same trait. That is when the dominant forms of both genes are present together and produce double effect. 1. Members of a gene pair may be equally expressed and therefore their expression is about the sum of individual effects of the genes in a pair.
What does additive mean in genetics?
Additive alleles are the result of polygenic traits, which means that several genes encode for the trait, resulting in more than two alleles contributing to the phenotype. The phenotype of additive alleles is continuous--it exists on a spectrum--resulting in a range of appearances.
