One of the most basic ways to determine the value of a property is price per square foot. It's important that you're able to learn the price per square foot in your area, then use that information to determine whether or not a house that is listed for sale is a good deal.

Sales Price divided by the house's square footage=price/sq ft.
Price per square foot X square foot of the house=House Value.

This is really basic and there are different price/sq ft ranges based on the the home size. Larger home typically have a cheaper price per sq ft when comparing homes on similar lot sizes...
