It’s definitely true that finding the right interests is part of the process of winning with Facebook ADs. However, without the right product, just having the right interests is of no use. Once you are able to identify the right types of products, you can begin using the following step by step strategy to find profitable interests each time.

Step 1 includes using google trends to figure out whether the product is in demand now. Sell a good product in the wrong time period and you will not be profitable.

This is followed by step 2, which is to begin researching interests that are available on Facebook by simply typing the main keyword in. This won’t lead to results all the time, but it’s important to continue typing different words in and going broad if needed.

With step 3, you begin to use the suggestions tab to note down everything similar. It’s best to have 5 to 15 interests noted down so that you can have 5 to 15 different adsets.

Step 4 includes researching via Facebook or Google to find even more interests revolving around celebrities, community pages, retail stores, etc. All of these should be related in some way to the product you wish to sell.

The 5th step is to mix and match the interest adsets with other types, such as with demographics and/or no interest targeting. This ensures a wide range of audience.

With the last step, all you’ll be focused on doing is revising the running adsets. Monitor and change based on data.
