How to Genuinely "Believe in Jesus"

Genuine Faith is unpretentiously entrusting your life to Jesus and letting him completely take over the rest of your life to walk the way that leads to life. He is that Way and we let him live in us to do God's will. We die to ourselves so that Jesus might be alive in us.

Faith perceived as "I believe Jesus died for me" really means "I trust in a precept about Jesus" and it ultimately means "I believe that I am saved by my own belief that Jesus saved me." It amounts to affriming to one's self that one is saved by a faith in his own faith. But saving faith is not a self reaffirmation or trusting some concept about Jesus is true. It is entrusting the rest of your life to Jesus to do whatever he wants to do with your life.

Saving Faith is not simply agreeing what the Bible says about Jesus or agreeing with a message about Jesus or agreeing with a doctrine about Jesus. The message is only the starting point which points you somewhere else - to Jesus - and the message does not tell you to put your faith in the message but to put your faith IN HIM. Our faith is a faith in God that takes place IN JESUS, a safe place, our salvation. And to be in him means we truly and unpretentiously die to self and our own desires letting him take over to live in us in all that we do. We lose our life and everything about it entrusting everything to Jesus so that he may save us from the coming wrath.
