Description from the creator

There are things you need to know about getting a restraining order. If you feel physically threatened by someone else or have been on the receiving end of domestic violence, a restraining order can prevent your abuser from threatening or having contact with you. It will usually require your abuser to keep a certain distance away from you. In order to get one, you will need to go to the courthouse and apply for one. You must explain to the judge why you feel you need the court's protection. Documented proof is essential in your application. You will need to have copies given to your abuser. Keep a copy of the order with you at all times, and if your abuser tries to contact you, call the police immediately. Be cautious, and stay safe.
