WHAT IS AN EIN?
An EIN, also known as an Employment Identification Number, FEIN or Federal Employment Identification Number is issued by the IRS to business entities. An EIN is similar to a Social Security Number, but is used to identify a business.


WHO NEEDS AN EIN?
Typically an EIN will be used for a sole proprietorships WITH EMPLOYEES, Partnerships, Corporations or LLCs. If you are a sole proprietorship with no employees, you will just use your social security number.


HOW MUCH DOES AN EIN COST?
