How to Get Your First Teaching Job When Nobody's Calling You Back

I got this advice on how to get my first teaching job from Mark Benthall, one of my instructors in Texas Teachers alternative teaching program.

Here's my 'script' for what I said to try and get facetime with the principal's w/out asking for an interview:
"Hi my name's Thom Gibson and I've applied online but I just wanted to come by and drop off my updated resume and see if the principal was in just so I could shake her hand and give her a face to the name. I'm not looking for an interview, I just wanted to see if the principal was available today just to introduce myself"
