How to give to charity? Which charity to support?

So, you want to support a charity, but you have no idea how to choose a good one. Here is a way to find which charity to support.

First of all, consider what you want to give? Time, money, blood, organs, toys, clothes, old towels? Money is not the only thing you can give, keep that in mind.

But which charity to support, how to help charities in the best possible way? Of course, there are many many many charities, and we cannot just give you one quick name. Actually, it all comes down to you. What do you believe in, who do you care about, what problem would you like to solve the most?

Websites to help you find a charity and make sure it is a good charity are Givewell.org, CharityWatch.org and CharityNavigator.com.

Don’t be lazy, check out different organizations before deciding. It might take some time, but so did making money, right? What is the cause you think is worth supporting? Visit charities websites, read about their goals, ideas and past achievements. Do you agree with them, does your vision coincide with theirs? Contact them and make sure your donation is going in good hands.

After spending all this time looking for a good charity, don’t just give up. Make your donations a monthly thing. It is better to give less money (or time, clothes or toys), but to do it regularly. This way the organization knows they can count on you.

And, of course, subscribe, I guess… :)
