If you store your Bitcoin at an online wallet like Coinbase or a trading exchange, THEY ARE NOT SAFE! Plain and simple! You need to create an OFFLINE wallet immediately!
Offline wallets are also known as "Cold Storage" and it's the only way to ensure that your Bitcoins stay safe and secure!
If this is the first time you've ever heard of a cold storage wallet or a bitcoin private key, I would strongly suggest doing more research into Bitcoin before you invest any more of your money.
The worst possible thing to have happen is someone come along and steal your Bitcoins because you didn't properly secure them.
