How To Make Future Pop In Ableton - Layering Chords & Synths

Tip #1 Contrasting Layers
So the first step is to find a nice juicy future bass supersaw and begin layering it with softer, warmer sounds to add contrast. I like to use one low and high supersaw, and one low and high warmer sound.

Make sure to EQ all sub frequencies from each layer so nothing conflicts with the sub-bass.

Tip #2 Sub Bass Frequencies
Sub-bass is what makes a future pop supersaw hit hard. To get a nice sub-bass its best for it to sit in the 30hz to 80hz range. Sometimes a key shift is needed to get the sub to sit in this range.

Tip #3 White Noise
On the other end of the spectrum, we have White noise. White noise is used to fill out the high-end harmonics and give the sound a nice crisp sound.

Just use the noise oscillator from your favorite synth and then EQ any low unwanted frequencies and add some stereo width.

Tip #4 Nudging
This is the most important future pop supersaw tip out of the whole lot. Nudging notes slightly off the beat gets rid of that robotic feel that's so obvious in novice music. The pros make it sound so organic and natural and this is how you make that happen.

Nudge the notes slightly off the beat by a few ms, then nudge the entire chord back making it hit a little bit delayed. This will also help add movement and that boppy vibe.

Tip #5 Drum Fills
This is another key element to making your future bass supersaw hit HARD! Add reverse kicks, reverse snares, and tom rolls to help add interest to your drums and emphasize that swing and groove.
