Description from the creator

Read the descripion for your own safety! Use extreme caution when making and using this mix.

This video will show you, in my opinoin, the best way to make a simple substitute to Armstrong's mixture.

This type of explosive should only be used in small amounts; preferably no more than 0,5 grams, and never more than 1 gram at a time.

Safety equipment should be worn when testing/using this mix. Glasses if there is any danger of flying particles or parts, and always use ear protection whether it's earmuffs, earplugs or simply your fingers.

I will not be held responible for what you use this for.

I've seen one reported instance where a cannon spontaneously fired after loading. Following these safety precautions is therefore a must when using this mix:

Armstrong's mixture is an extremely sensitive explosive. If you're under 18, you should always have permission from your parents or the people you live with before making fireworks of any kind. Be aware that the mixture is friction and shock sensitive, and will ignite if exposed to either of them.

Be aware that mixing pure(r) ingredients will make an even more sensitive mixture, so do not try that out if you do not know what you're doing.

Only safety matches should be used.

The two ingredients must not be mixed in any other way than the diaper method. For the mix shown in the video gentle shaking can also be performed to mix them. Other methods, like stirring, might cause it to ignite due to friction.

The two ingredients must NOT be grinded after they are mixed. Doing so will cause it to ignite.

The match heads must NOT be crushed with a pestle and mortar. There is a great risk for it to ignite when doing this.

Please be aware that using a battery might cause the mix to ignite as well. This has been reported by two users.

Site with good info about AM: pyrosource.wikia.com/wiki/Arms...

Wooden matches are better than paper matches.

Ratio:
1: 18-20 matches per amount of phosphorus from one match box.
Example: 110 matches and 5 boxes (this is the amount I use whenever I make AM)
2: 0,85 (85%) grams of match head powder (potassium chlorate) and 0,15 (15%) grams of red phosphorus for 1 total gram of AM. Ratio nr. 1 (above) will give roughly 2 grams

Due to safety I advice against making more than 2 grams at once.

I don't know what matches this works with and not, but in general i believe that all safety matches will give a similar result. However if there are any matches that does not work, let me know.

Brands this works with: Nitedals, The Scissors, Zebra, Sampo , De Zwaluw, Redhead, Flix, Olivenca Posporo, Commando, Royal Phimco, Tordenskjold, Green Light Diamond, Homelites, Union Match, Eirikki, Star Safety, Aldi, Touch.

(Let me know if there is another brand that works, and the ratio if it's not the one I use)
