How to name acids | SUPER easy & FOOLPROOF! - Dr K

In this video, we are going to go through how to name acids. There are different types of acids, namely binary acid and oxyacids. We will go through naming binary acids and oxyacids. We will be using specific examples, HCl, HClO2 and HClO3. There's a simple and fool-proof method when it comes to naming any acids. The one thing you need to know is the name of the anion that is present in the acid. Once you figure out the name of the anion, you can easily figure out how to name acids. There are three types of anions, one that ends with "ide", "ate" and "ite" (ide ate ite). Each type will lead to different names of acid.
