Description from the creator

ARE YOU NERVOUS FOR YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL? This video offers great tips on how to deal with stress and anxiety for your first day back at school. This advice will help you overcome the challenges of going back to school!

In case you hate to watch great videos...reading will work as well:

1. Exercise - your brain gives off endorphins, which block off anxiety.
2. Look Good - wear something new. Get your hair cut,
3. Visualization - A big thing of first day jitters is a fear of the unknown, so plan ahead and mind map your day. Visualize success will give you a sense of familiarity. Close your eyes and go through everything for your day. What are you eating? what are you wearing? Where do you go when you get to school? What are you going to say to people?
4. Listen, Ask questions and find common things to talk about. The better you listen, the easier it is to ask more questions and make connections to your own life.
5. Your not nervous, your excited. signs of being nervous: Heart races, you visualize the future, hands get clammy. Excitement: heart races, visualize future, and hands get clammy. If you’re an athlete in a big game, you would never say “ OH I”M SO NERVOUS” …”man I am excited. So, when I find myself getting nervous, tell yourself that you’re excited. Before I go on stage for a magic show, I never say I am nervous, I tell myself I am excited. Give a reason for WHY you’re excited. Change your narrative.

Share this with someone who might be nervous for their first day. Best of luck to you all - Go crush it!
