How To Obtain Clue Reports

Bennett & Porter Insurance has provided you a link so your clients may order a FREE copy of their CLUE report.

Unfortunately, per the Fair Credit Reporting Act and federal privacy laws, insurance companies are unable to provide these reports for this purpose. We realize that certain insurance agents have done so in the past, but as a result, they are in violation of the law and subject to strict penalties. However, your clients may order a FREE copy of their CLUE report at: personalreports.lexisnexis.com.

In the case the website is down (Plan B), please have the individual requesting a Clue Report contact us and we’ll be able to assist them over the phone and provide them with a “Yes” or “No” on whether the home has any claims.

Federal law mandates that the policyholder has a right to obtain the information contained on a CLUE report, but that process must be accomplished by the policy holder directly with LexisNexis. Again, insurance companies are prohibited from disclosing personal information in the reports by both state and federal laws.
