How to Remove Sutures and Apply Steristrips (Nursing Skills)

Nurses often care for wounds that will require follow up procedures. Suture application often requires that 7 to 10 days post-treatment, the patient returns to have their sutures removed.

If a wound is not deep, steristrips may be applied in place of sutures or after the sutures have been removed to allow for further healing. These are two skills nurses should be familiar with.
