Description from the creator

Erica Arndt YouTube Video (Original Video Credits "How to SEW a Medical FACE MASK // TUTORIAL"): youtube.com/watch?v=4FB--BOyTiU

Supplies:
2 pieces 100% cotton fabric: 6" x 9" (You can also cut up old 100% cotton t-shirts!)
1 piece cotton flannel for the lining OR 100% COTTON FABRIC: 6" x 9"
2 elastic strips: 1/8" x 6” women, 7” men, 5.5” children

ALTERNATE SIZING:
7" x 9" - adult male with 7" elastic straps
6" x 9" - adult female with 6" elastic straps
5" x 7" - child size with 5.5" elastic straps

For further details on other specifics, please refer to her video's description box :)

Directions:
1. Spray with water and iron out all fabric to remove wrinkles (highest temperature works for both the cotton and flannel)
2. Measure and cut multiple 6" x 9" of 100% pattern/plain cotton and flannel fabric (use the custom cardstock template or the Omnigrid and rotary cutter. DO NOT USE SHARPIE WHEN MARKING!!!).
3. Match place the fabrics in batches of 3 with the sequence of the middle flannel layer (face up), top layer of pattern cotton (face up), and plain cotton back layer (face down)
4. Cut 7-inch elastic straps
5. Secure elastic by pinning it on top of the middle and top layer on both short sides of the mask
6. Attach the back layer (face down) on top of the flannel, top layer cotton fabric, and elastic. Hold in place while removing the pin and including the back layer to repin all parts together
7. Sew a quarter of an inch border around the mask, backstitch the areas where elastic is located and leave a two-inch gap for the turning inside out process later
8. Cut the four edges to leave a curved shape (not too close to the stitches)
9. Proceed to turn the mask inside out through the two-inch gap
10. Use the embossing stylus or any other thin-tipped tool to push out the corners of the mask
11. Repeat the ironing process
12. Make an “S” shape two times to create the pleat on both short sides of the mask (one inch apart from each other and both of the sides)
13. Sew a quarter of an inch border around the mask. While you take out the pins when you arrive at a pleat, hold the “S” in place and continue to sew over

Side Notes:
1. Handwash or cold water in washing machine
2. OUT OF ELASTIC? Use hair ties or something that resembles a lightwieght rope that you can sew on and simply tie around the back of your head
3. Always sanitize before use
4. Contact local police stations, hospices, nursing homes, or hospitals for more information on their donation requirements
5. When in DOUBT, DON’T go OUT
