Hello friends! Today I’m sharing tips for how to use feather presentation and physical traits to discern if a chicken is male or female. I hope it helps! 👩🏽‍🌾

Terms:

Pullet: female hen

Rooster: make chicken

Hackles: pointed neck feathers found almost exclusively on males (some mixed breed hens will have hackles)

Saddle feathers: pointed side feathers which are only found on males

Spurs: male trait on legs
