My guest today is Maura Cunningham, she’s the Founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization Rock The Street, Wall Street - a financial and investment literacy program designed to spark high school girls’ interest in pursuing finance careers. After spending 25+ years in the financial industry as one of the few women in the room, Maura was eager to turn her attention to getting more girls interested in their financial independence and exploring jobs in finance.

In this episode of Invest Diva movement, we compare the differences between the Iranian and the American culture when it comes to math and finance, why 60% of my classmates in computer science class in Iran were girls, while in western societies like in Japan and the US I was the only girl in the crowd, and most importantly, how we can put a stop to this disability that haunts our daughters throughout their lives in so many areas, not just their careers.
