Description from the creator

Hey guys in this video we discuss and show how to take a spore print of wild mushrooms. To identify mushrooms in the wild a spore print is one important piece of the puzzle that some may not know how to do. Identifying wild mushrooms can be tricky because of the complexity involved in all the different species, but taking a spore print is rather easy.

To take a spore print you harvest the mushroom in question with gloves and keep it contained. Then place the spore bearing surface down on a sheet of white paper and cover with a container for approx. 12-24 hrs. After which the spores will have collected allowing you to see their colors. This is just ONE of the important factors in mushroom identification, and can help ensure accuracy. This is a must for anyone really serious about learning all kinds of mushrooms and how to identify them safely without harm.
