AVG is an excellent antivirus system, even the free version but sometimes you may wish to remove it and install a different antivirus. Sometimes the usual way of going to Start -Control Panel - Uninstall programs does not work and it appears to get stuck, don't worry there is a simple solution!

AVG gives a version away for free which is very good; do not be mistaken that because it is free it is not very good or not properly supported, it is free because although it helps you it helps AVG!
So why would they give it away free if it is good?

Well lets think about your computer as a house with a house attached each side. Now unfortunately you are getting rats and mice in your house. So you call a pest control company who put down tarps which reduces the rodents but they are still entering your house, you are continually under attack because they are coming from the houses both sides of you and they have not called anyone out for rodent control. So whatever you do it will not solve the problem unless you take action in the houses each side of you. Now if you went to those houses and said you would pay for rodent control to stop you being attacked you would be able to eliminated your problem.

So the paying AVG client gets a few extras which are not essential but they give the FREE version which is the virus killer to protect the paying computer. So as you can see AVG is a market leading product who understand that many people would not pay so they give a free version away to make viruses on the web more manageable.

You must also remember no single virus system is 100% effective but any you choose will do a good job. If you ever get offered a full free trial of antivirus software I suggest to take it for the trial period as a good practice but then personally I then go back to AVG.
I do NOT recommend you install 2 antivirus systems at the same time, this often causes problems due to the nature of the software and how it looks in every single file and folder; this often causes problems when you try to uninstall one.

Luckily as shown in the video AVG recognise this and if you go to the website and look for utilities they have a ultimate system to remove AVG from your system. This will work on any windows system or MAC computer. In the video i did it on windows 8.
Now I said that I would not have two antivirus systems on at the same time, the exception for me is if I think I am valuable I also load malwarebites.
