How to use a weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, weed whip, whatever you call it (it's a string trimmer!) properly. Good technique will make your grass look better, stay healthier, and you will work faster and more efficiently. Just don't scalp your lawn super low! Trim at the same height that you have your mower set to, ease into the throttle, and go easy on it!

I started using mine with the plastic guard off recently, but I'd recommend you leave it on unless you are more experienced and know exactly how much line to let out at a time. That plastic guard helps cut the line at the proper length so you aren't over loading the engine and is also a safety feature.
