Description from the creator

West Virginia is a wonderful place for folklore and poetry, and to celebrate some of those traditions, West Virginia University is offering a limerick-writing contest to WV middle-school and high-school students. James Harms, chair of the Department of English, and Kirk Hazen, professor of linguistics, explain what a limerick is and how to write one. Students across the state are encouraged to compose their own original limericks and submit them to the contest. Visit limerick.wvu.edu for more information.
