Description from the creator

A video explanation of how to write the chemical formula for Calcium Sulfate.

Calcium Sulfate is an ionic compound and therefore we need to take into account ionic charges for each element. We'll need to balance the charges on each element by modifying the subscripts until the charges balance. When we do, we end up with CaCO3 as the formula for Calcium Sulfate.

For help and practice naming and writing the formulas for chemical compounds visit The Naminator (thegeoexchange.org/chemistry/naming).
