Make a Reed With Me | step-by-step oboe reed scraping instructions (reed making tutorial)

Hello oboists and oboe fans! Thank you for joining me in a very ambitious oboe reed making video. I hope you grab a blank yourself and scrape along with me!

Sorry for some things that went wrong along the way. I scraped another reed so you could see a more in depth view of how I actually scrape from my pov.

I put out an Instagram poll and 186 people voted for real time scraping compared to 83 who wanted me to fast-forward through my scraping. I did opt to leave it in real time!

I hope you enjoy this video and good luck on your oboe journey!!

The first track I'm using while I'm talking is generously provided by Scott Kramer. You can hear more of his music here: soundcloud.com/scott-kramer-4
