Description from the creator

In this tutorial, Thomas Phinney, type designer (Hypatia Sans, Cristoforo), font educator, and VP of FontLab, will go over many secret-yet-simple principles of type design that you can follow to easily tweak fonts to make them look better. There are many ways in which simple measurements will lead you to make fonts that are mathematically regular but look wrong; in the workshop you will learn how to make fonts that look right, by correcting for how people perceive letter shapes. The content of this workshop draws on Thomas’s article for Communication Arts ("Know If a Font Sucks").
