1) In the first slide, create your cover page with any images or shapes you would like for an aesthetic start.

2) Create a new slide and open the slide-show tab where you will find the option of Set-Up-Slideshow, open it and a menu tab will open up. Click “Browsed at a kiosk (Full screen)” in the bar named “Show Type”. Click ‘ok’ to confirm. This will ensure that you can access the slides only through hyperlinks.

3) Then create a new slide. This slide will be shown to the participant if they answer incorrectly. Design it to your liking.

4) Add a new slide and write your first question. The answers will be in Multiple Choice Format (MCQ). Add shapes and design it as you would like your question page to be.

5) Add one more slide. This slide will be shown to the participant if they answer correctly. Design it to your liking.

6) This part will be a little tricky, so pay attention…
Go to the first slide and add a shape, say an arrow. This will be the button the participant has to press to enter the quiz. Insert the shape and type in “Start Quiz”. Select the inserted shape and open the insert tab. In the insert tab, find and open the ‘Action’ menu. We will now apply a hyperlink to that shape.

7) In the action settings bar, click on “Hyperlink to” and select the ‘slide’ option. A menu named “Hyperlink to Slide” will open automatically. Select the slide with the question i.e. Slide 3.

8) Now go to the question slide and select the correct option among the numerous options. Open the insert tab and open the action menu. In the action menu click the option named “Hyperlink to” and select the slide which you designed for declaring that the answer was correct i.e. slide 4 (the next slide).

9) Now select the incorrect options and open the action menu as shown above. There click the option “Hyperlink to” and select “Slide…” A selection panel will open where you must select the slide meant for declaring that the entered option was incorrect. This part is important; don’t click the ‘Previous Slide’ option, but the ‘slide…’ instead.

10) Now go to the slide that declares that your answer is incorrect i.e. Slide 2, and insert a shape and type in “Retry”. We will add a hyperlink to this shape too. Open the action settings as before and click the option ‘hyperlink to’. Select “Last Slide Viewed” and confirm. What happens here is that it will redirect you to the question and you get a chance to reattempt it.

11) Now we will add the option to move on to the next question. Insert a shape in the question slide i.e. Slide 3 and hyperlink it to the next slide. Select the shape and from the action menu hyperlink it to the ‘next slide’ under the option “Hyperlink to”.

12) Now we have a fully functioning interactive quiz game template in PowerPoint. Now it is time to add more questions. Simply select the first question slide and the “correct answer” slide holding down the ‘ctrl’ key and copy-paste them. Do this for as many questions you like. Change the text in the question and options boxes for other questions.

13) Add the hyperlinks in the new question slides as shown above. Repeat this for every question very carefully.

14) Your job is almost done. After you have added hyperlinks to all the questions and options, all that’s left to do is add an end page. Add some ending message such as “Congrats you have completed the Quiz”. Go to the last “Correct answer” slide and add a shape. Then type “End Quiz Game” in it. We will hyperlink it to end the presentation. Go to the actions menu from the insert tab and click on the “Hyperlink to” option. Select “End Show”

15) Now all you have to do is save the presentation. Browse the storage options in your computer and select where you want it to be stored. Add a filename and save it in Microsoft PowerPoint Show format so that this game opens directly in slideshow mode.
